Political Poise

If you believe or think the Law of Attraction may have some merit; the time to use it is now.

Our U.S. political system is failing us no matter what side of the political fence your white knuckled fingers grasp.  Our two-party system consists of two combatant factions who believe their positions are the only means to success.  It reminds me of how the religious community views one another.  If it continues this way we may, one day, look back with dire regret.

I believe in the controversial Law of Attraction.  (By the way, this is where one could put my belief in the IF You Believe sentence and offer up some ridicule.)  I know I set myself up for ridicule but I still offer up my idea.

Instead of accepting the political status quo maybe it is time to raise our expectations.  Old school politics continue to fail us.  Have you noticed?  We keep putting the same type of stubborn individuals in positions of power.  We want change but all we get are nickels and dimes that kids don't even want anymore.

Change must begin in the constituents who choose and vote these reptilian type brains into office.  (Click on this link Margot Carenes for a short article that sites a politician brain study).  This article surmises that both parties think with a reptilian brain rather than a wise brain.  In the fear mode we have three options; freeze, fight or flight.  Republicans tend to fight; Democrats tend to flee while the outcome from both is to freeze.  The ultimate goal would be to have men and woman in leadership who thinks with a 'wise' brain.  This avenue of thought thinks strategically and devises solutions for the common good.

The change I refer to is our attitude and expectation toward those we put in power.  Instead of expecting our political leaders to lie, cheat, steal and otherwise be egotistical, self-serving, upper-class low-lives, let's view them as productive, self-sacrificing, wise citizens who care about America, its people and the freedoms we hold dear.  I know I am way out there but I cannot be the only one.

Of course, it will take time.  Momentum continues to accelerate.  One cannot expect a high-speed train to make an immediate reversal of momentum.  The train must slow down, come to a stop and then build up speed again.  In this case, LOA is not immediate.  However if enough good natured people get on board and slow this train down by raising the bar we could salvage the system and make it proud-worthy once again.

Yeah, call me an idealist or optimist.  According to the Law of Attraction, it only takes 1/10 of 1 percent of the mass to make a difference.  That's only 320,000 people, if my math is correct.  Only 6,400 people per state, a whopping 2 per county to make a difference.  I am willing to adjust my thinking, my attitude, along with my expectations for the potential well-being and stability of our country.  I am willing to expect, and hold accountable, our potential politicians to engage the 'wise brain' rather than the 'reptilian brain ' How about you?
